It's October!

October? How can that be? Wasn't I just ushering off my BABY to his senior year of high school just a few weeks ago? I seriously don't know where the time has gone.

On the positive side, the season indicates to me it's time to pull out the crock pot and turn on the ovens. A steady stream of hot cinnamon rolls should begin to scent the house each morning, followed by a hearty "something good is cookin" when I come home at night... meatloaves, stews, chilis... all those comforting dishes that are just too hot and heavy to serve during the summer.

Tonight I had to MAKE myself get out of the kitchen and on to the computer to update the website, and touch base with you all. I planned to tell you about a couple new recipes I've made, especially my new "Pie Puffs" that are really nothing but left over pie dough scraps and a couple of other ingredients, but as I began updating the pages, I came across this photo.

Yep. It was a whole year ago that we celebrated YUM's first birthday, and somehow we're already to number two! As I said, I'm really not sure where the time goes!

I've continued learning about baking and cookie and cake decorating, and am excited to be working with edible lace and copper "paint" this month for a special wedding. And I've developed a plan that will someday get me my own commercial kitchen space. When you dream, dream BIG, right?

In the meantime, I want to thank you all for your orders, your compliments, and your inspiration! I still get a thrill each time someone tells me something was really great, and am honored to help make your events and celebrations special!

If you ordered from me in 2016, be sure to watch your snail mail box for a special coupon good for your holiday orders. After all, what good is baking if you don't get to share it?

Happy Fall to you all!

Christina
